What I did last night

I was planning on sewing or making cards. Instead I took the rare oportunity to actually sit in silence read a book I borrowed from the library and eat yummy supper food.
Living The Good Life is an easy read so good for when you don't get to read often or can easily be read whilst cooking dinner. The only down fall with the book is a feel very guilty about a lot of my consumption on the worlds resources and the lack of activity in my garden. We live in a rental so making significant changes to the home is a bit out of our reach.
Being totally self sufficiant like the family in the book are would be great and easy if you owned your own property, had enough land to use for growing all your food supplies, could have afforded to have the roof covered in solar panels and the skills and knowledge of being able to build equipment yourself etc.
I would love to be in that position one day but now I will dream that hopefully we will be there before we are empty nesters.

The book is good for ideas for small projects and other related issues. Since Thursday I have read through almost two months of diary entries a good effort for me.

Thanks for the write up on that book. We try to be as self sufficient as possible but even though we are on a large farm there are still things we have to buy, ahhhh utopia...
