It took a while of trying to figure it out but I can now crochet.

I pulled it apart many times but I finally got there. A bit out of wack in the squareness but I'm proud all the same.

Congrats on your first granny square! Mine aren't square either but there is nothing wrong with a bit of wonk. Thanks for the great bag I got as part of Cass's swap. My eldest has claimed it for herself already.
